Recently appointed to the Board of the Southern Delaware County Authority Gail King is no newcomer to the world of Public Service. Gail has served on the Upper Chichester Township Emergency Management Committee for over 5 years and as a member of the Delaware County Medical Reserve Corps for the past 4 years. Gail also serves as the elected, Judge of Elections for the 2nd Precinct in the 2nd Ward.
Gail has spent most of her life here in Upper Chichester, born and raised in the Twin Oaks neighborhood Gail was active in the Crusaders Drill Team at a young age and several memorable years as a cheerleader at Chichester High School, where she graduated in 1980.
Gail also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management from Eastern University and became a Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) through SHRM. She also earned a Certificate in HR Management from Villanova University. She has worked in a variety of industries in HR roles, including 5 years as the Benefits Administrator at the City of Suffolk, Virginia. Her concern for people helped her to transition smoothly from HR to Social Services. She is currently employed with Community Action Agency of Delaware County (CAADC), a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people and changing lives. Gail has been employed with CAADC since 2008, and is currently a Pharmacy Technician Program Coordinator. In this capacity, Gail works with individuals on specific job readiness, financial and life skills training. These individuals have an opportunity to attend DCCC and participate in an externship to prepare them to become Certified Pharmacy Technicians, which will lead to gainful employment in a demanding field.
Working at CAADC provides Gail a unique opportunity to work and live in the same community. A community that she loves full of family, her Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church family and lifelong friends. Outside of her favorite vacation spot in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Gail can think of no place she would rather be than right here at home in Upper Chichester.
